2023 06-19 Board Meeting Minutes1 2 VILLAGE OF ALSIP 3 MINUTES OF 4 BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING 5 JUNE 19, 2023 6 7 Mayor Ryan called the meeting to order at 7:30p.m. Clerk Harding called the roll with the following 8 in attendance: Trustees Dalzell, McLawhorn, Nava-Esparza, Perretta and Mayor Ryan. Trustee 9 Juarez-Mendoza and Murphy were absent. 10 11 Mayor announced: 1) Department heads will be meeting with the finance director soon to work on 12 budgets. 2) There is a zoom call Wednesday at 3pm with Seagrave about the increase in price for the 13 fire truck. 3) Condesa Del Mar will try to market the property again. 14 15 MAYOR'S REPORT: Mayor Ryan presented: 1) Recognition of Juneteenth. 2) Recognition of 16 Pride month. 3) APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING CERTAIN OFFICERS AS 17 PRINCIPALS, SIGNERS, AND TRADERS FOR THE ILLINOIS FUNDS ACCOUNTS HELD 18 BY THE VILLAGE OF ALSIP, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS. 4) Mayor took a consensus to 19 close village hall at 4pm on July 3rd in observance of the holiday and the fact that there is no 20 meeting that night. 21 22 Roll #1: Voting"aye": Trustees Dalzell,McLawhorn,Nava-Esparza and Perretta. Motion carried 4-0. 23 24 CLERK'S REPORT: Clerk Harding presented: 1) Approval of the Monthly Motor Fuel Tax 25 Allotment in the amount of$68,847.86. 2) Approval of the June 5, 2023 Board Meeting Minutes. 26 3) Approval of the May 2023 FOIA Report. 4) Presentation and approval of June 12, 2023 27 Committee Meeting Minutes. 28 29 ATTORNEY'S REPORT: Attorney Elizabeth Attard: 1)No report. 30 31 ENGINEER'S REPORT: Geoff Aggen: 1) Was absent but Trustee Nava-Esparza reported that the 32 first pass on sanitary sewer viewing is completed and resurfacing is in place and will reline starting 33 early July. 34 35 PUBLIC FORUM: No one came forward. 36 37 FINANCE AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY REPORT: Trustee McLawhorn presented: 1) 38 Approval of a list of payroll dated June 16, 2023 totaling $454,232.06. 2) Approval of a list of 39 accounts payable dated June 19, 2023 with a recap of General Fund $132,323.40; Road& Bridge 40 $41,552.54; MFT $15,055.71; Liability/WC Insurance $41,037.00; Health Insurance $3,571.48; 41 Water& Sewer $92,118.29; Sanitary Sewers $1,755.99; Heritage UII $78,612.41; IPRF Grant 42 Expense $8,662.50; Retiree Health Insurance $92,337.74; for all funds totaling $507,027.06. 43 44 FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT: Trustee Dalzell presented: 1)No report. 45 46 POLICE AND TRAFFIC SAFETY REPORT: Trustee Dalzell presented: 1)No report. 47 48 PUBLIC WORKS AND BOAT LAUNCH REPORT: Trustee McLawhorn presented: 1) Approval 49 of the Public Works May 2023 Monthly Activity Report. 2) 2022 resurfacing asphalt is completed 50 and landscape will start today. 3) Kostner from 123-127,plans have gone to IDOT and will start 51 Spring of 2024. 52 53 SEWER AND WATER: Trustee Nava-Esparza presented: 1) Presentation and approval of the 54 Water Department May 2023 Monthly Activity Report. 2) Authorization to appropriate five 55 thousand dollars ($5000.00) through the Lead Service Line Inventory Grant Program for the 56 purchase of gift cards to incentivize survey responses. 50- $100 gift cards. 57 58 BUILDING AND HEALTH REPORT: Trustee Perretta presented: 1)No report. Asked about the 66 progress of the businesses on Pulaski. Rodger Early stated that Taco Burrito King is moving along 67 and was inquiring about outdoor seating.
